(My best memories from 2012)
I can’t believe it’s about to be 2013. 2012 has been so amazing in so many ways. Thank you all for sharing my journey with me.
I had the incredible opportunity to travel all over the world and work with the most talented people. I wanted to put together a post to remember all the best times in 2012 before moving on to a new exciting and unpredictable year.
I started off 2012 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with my friends enjoying a wonderful New Year. Also during this time I was featured in a digital advertisement for Forever21 that played in Times Square, NY. Seeing that billboard was one of the most proud moments of my career so far.
In February I walked in a fashion show during NYFW for Polyvore and Cover Girl with 20 other bloggers.
In April I went to my favorite musical festival Coachella both weekends (second) and was able to actually go for work being recognized as a festival fashion trendsetter.
Also in April I traveled with friends to Rome, Italy, the Amalfi Coast and London. As well as a wonderful trip to Miami to work on a project.
In July I worked on a great project with Guess, filiming 8 videos for their fall digital ad campaign.
Also in July I went on a Cross country road trip with my friends from New York to Chicago and attended Lollapalooza in Chicago.
Straight from there I was invited to go to Brazil on behalf of major Brazilian shoe line Schutz. I got to discover San Paolo and Rio De Janiero and Brazil quickly became one of my favorite places in the world. While in Brazil I got to shoot for Elle and Vogue Brazil and I also designed 3 pairs of shoes which sold in New York in November. It was my first time working on a shoe collaboration.
After attending NYFW in the fall, I went to London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks (which was my first time in both Paris and Milan.) As a young girl who always loved fashion this was literally a dream come true to be invited to fashion shows in the most important cities in the world. While spending a whole month in Europe I got to visit other gorgeous destinations like Venice and Florence.
Earlier this month I did something I have always been wanting to do- a road trip up the coast of California on Highway 1. One of the most beautiful drives in the world.
Now I have just arrived in Italy and will end the year attempting to ski in the Alps with my friends.
I spent a lot of time between Los Angeles and New York, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful brands, stores and magazines throughout the year. In my hometown of Los Angeles it has been an absolute honor to be recognized as a style influencer and respected for my taste in fashion.
I’ve worked so hard this year, the amount of hours I’ve sat at this computer one can’t even imagine. All the Fridays nights I sat home alone blogging rather than going out. Haha. I definitely have to thank my family: my mom, dad and brother who have spent hours taking pictures for me, being understanding when I can’t be away from my phone for one minute, and helping me out in all kinds of crisis’. I could have never done it alone. And MOST importantly and I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without all of you.
I am truly grateful each and everyday. Those who read along from the beginning I feel like I know you all from your comments and sweet words, and newer visitors I am touched each time someone tells me they just found my blog and they enjoy it.
I never expected my life to turn out this way. It always feels surreal. I’m a normal girl, from a small town- I worked as a waitress for 6 years to pay my way through college and moved to Los Angeles with only a dream. Now I am able to do what I love and I could never ever thank you all enough for helping my dreams become a reality.
I wish you all an incredible New Years and a wonderful 2013. Remember that anything is possible and the sky is the limit!
