I usually don’t post looks on Sundays, I just need that day-off, to stay in my sweatpants all day and not have to get ready. Don’t we all?
So I was thinking. What could Sundays be good for? Baking of course! I get so many questions and emails regarding my health, diet plan, etc I’m going to start using Sundays to share the recipes of my favorite things.
Now I know there are a lot of food blogs out there- and they look absolutely delicious. But really… 1 hour prep time, 2 hour cook time- what? Hello? Who really has time for all that? I work full time, am always running late and constantly looking for quickly healthy eats.
So here you have it- the new Sundays- sharing my favorite skinny “bites”: healthy eats for the glamourous girl on the go.

This first post isn’t really an eat but I always get 100s of comments on my instagram when I post pictures of my morning latte. It’s a little different than your typical non fat vanilla from Starbucks. And I make it all at home- in about 5 seconds. Or at least that’s what I tell myself when I’m already 15 minutes late for a meeting and find it necessary to still make one. “But it only takes 5 seconds.” I’ll let you be the judge.

What’s Matcha and why is it different from regular green tea? Matcha is a fine ground, powdered, high quality green tea. Only the finest tea leaved are harvested and picked. Sources say that the majority of the wonderful antioxidants in green tea actually remains unused, trapped in the tea leaves when you are just using a normal tea bag.
Matcha powder doesn’t come cheap- at Whole Foods you’re looking at $25 for a jar. But you can make at least 15 lattes so when you start adding up your money at the local coffee shop it’s not so much. Plus if you buy online you can get a great deal. Due to the fact that I can never manage to refill something until it’s already empty I usually get mine at Whole Foods in a last minute panic.

What you’ll need: a small blender, microwave
1 serving= one latte

1 large tablespoon full of organic 100% Matcha Green Tea Leaf Powder
1 cup your choice of milk (my option- plain Almond milk)
A pinch of stevia for sweetening

So it’s quite easy but I’ve learned a few valuable tricks along the way I wanted to share with you. Depending on your preference of milk (I usually use original Almond Milk 2/3 and 1/3 water) but if you aren’t looking to cut calories you could go for Whole Milk if you wanted. Heat up the milk to half of your desired latte temperature- microwave works just fine if your in a rush. Stir in one tablespoon full of matcha powder and a sprinkle of stevia for sweetening.
The thing with matcha powder is that is doesn’t fully dissolve easily. They tell you to buy a special “whisker” and whisk it. I tried it. It takes forever. Okay obviously don’t have time for that. So my great option is to pour it in a mini blender for 10 seconds and it blends it perfectly. When you are using hot milk it also makes it frothy- which is key for a great latte and hard to achieve at home.

I pour it in my cup heat it up a little more and ta-da it’s as easy as 1-2-3.

Green Tea is a great alternative to coffee. It’s rich in anti-oxidants, with way less caffeine but still enough to give you that morning boost. And stevia is a great option to sugar, but you have to buy 100% stevia leaf. Read ingredients- if it sounds weird, IT IS. I use Trader Joes’s Organic Stevia Extract- it’s my fav.

Let me know how it goes and what you’d like to see next week!
