I’m very much smoothie-obsessed, infact I make a smoothie of some kind every morning. Two of my favorite fruits are in season now- mangoes and white nectarines so I wanted to share with you one of my favorite smoothie recipes of the moment. And I’ve made it two ways for you so you can easily switch it up! Very easy to make and tastes heavenly!


What I use:

yellow mangoes
white nectarines (or peaches)
fresh ginger
orange juice
almond milk

I like to buy my fruits, cut them up and have them ready in the freezer. I don’t like to add ice to my smoothies because it waters them down, so if your fruit is frozen you won’t need it. I just keep everything in bags in the freezer- Strawberries, blueberries, peaches, etc. You can use frozen that you buy at the store, but the fresh fruits when in season are so much better. (no sugar needed) You may have noticed that I prepare a lot of things in advance lol! I”m always rushing around so it’s great to have things ready to eat in your freezer and I’m not talking frozen TV dinners.


First add frozen mango and nectarine pieces, about 1 cup mango 1/2 cup nectarines. Pour in about 1/2 cup juice and some almond milk. Blend till smooth. Add more juice and/or almond milk if needed. You can use rice milk, coconut milk, or coconut water instead of almond milk if you prefer. I don’t really have a recipe for this but just guesstimate depending on your preferred thickness.


Add 1/2 to 1 cup yogurt depending on your taste. I use Greek yogurt, usually non-fat, but again it’s up to you. I always look for the yogurt with the most protein because they aren’t all equal.


It’s really easy to grate fresh ginger. Just peel back the skin, place the grater on top of your blender and grate away!



If your want to add spinach just throw in a handful or so of freshly washed spinach.


That’s it! If your fruit needs a little sweetening add a drizzle of agave nectar or honey. A little squeeze of lemon or lime tastes wonderful too!
