I know most of us are always in a rush during the morning and sometimes it’s so easy to skip breakfast- but truly breakfast is the one meal you shouldn’t be skipping. It gives you the energy you need during the day, and it’s the meal furthest from bed time so your body has the most time to break it down while you are out and about all day. In a perfect healthy world we would eat the most in the morning and the least at dinnertime, not the opposite way around. So I wanted to share a few of my favorite healthy breakfast options that anyone can make in a flash.

What you’ll need:
A fruit selection
quinoa
Non fat Greek yogurt
Your preference on walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, etc

You can pretty much use any of your favorite fruits. I used some of my favorites: strawberries, mango, blueberries, oranges and peaches. You can also use your favorite nuts/seeds (almonds are the healthiest option) so feel free to get creative on this one! I cooked some quinoa using 1 cup quinoa to 1-1/2 cups water and added a pinch of salt. Using 1 cup of dry quinoa gave me 4 or so servings so I had 3 extra to put in ziploc bags and freeze for the rest of the week. Quinoa is a supergrain that’s packed full of protein, fiber and nutrients- it’s really the perfect morning food.

For the yogurt simply chop some of your fruits and nuts and a drizzle of agave or honey for sweetness if you want. it. For the quinoa you could add brown sugar and cinnamon. It’s all up to you! For someone looking for a low sugar option you could use a bit of 100% apple juice or even a pinch of stevia. I had fun taking these photos and since these recipes for were so quick and easy to make, I had more time to get creative. This is not how my usual morning set up looks! Haha.

All these ingredients are packed full of healthy vitamins and minerals to help get your day started and make you feel fresh and energized.
