If I had enough time, I’d probably have a beauty blog as well because I love make up, and products, lotions, creams, conditioners, etc you name it. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now because I always get so many questions on what I use. Truth be told, fashion is important and all, but your skin, body and hair is SO much more important. It’s hard these days to know what to trust, you never know if magazines are being paid to suggest you products, or they are doing favors for a friend. Nothing is ever 100% truth, but these are all the things that I’ve found that work for me. All tried and true and no one is paying me a penny for it. :)
THE MUST BUY: The Clairsonic – Not the cheapest on my list, but it’s worth every penny it costs. It does wonders for your skin, cleaning dead cells and unclogging pores. I can’t even explain it enough. Buy this instead of saving for your next pair of shoes. A clean, bright pretty face is priceless.
FAVORITE FACE WASH: Biore Blemish Fighting Face Wash. You can get at the local drugstore for 7 dollars. It gives your skin that cooling feeling, which to me always means its working. Leave it sit on your skin for a minute or two just so the salycic acid can penetrate your skin and keep your skin blemish free.
FOR THOSE SNEAKY ZITS: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion- The BEST zit cream/acne spot treatment hands down. For nighttime only as it leaves white spots on your face until you wash it off in the morning. Your skin loves it… your boyfriend probably doesn’t. Haha.
FACE CREAM: Kinara Intense Moisturizing Cream. Diminishing wrinkles is all about keeping your skin super hydrated. I always use extremely hydrating face lotions. Another favorite is Kiehls Ultra Facial Hydrating Cream. A cheaper alternative I also love Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle Cream.
MAKEUP MUST HAVE: Bobbi Brown Tinted Moiusturing Balm. By favorite my favorite beauty product. I use it everyday inplace of foundation. It gives your skin that dewy feel and always extremely hydrated. I feel like since I started using it about a year and a half ago it really has done wonders on making my skin look younger. Note: Some people feel it makes their skin look too oily. I dust a light powder over it (see below.)
CONCEALER: Cover FX Concealer Total Coverage Cream Foundation. I don’t know why they call it a foundation (to me foundation is liquid). It’s the PERFECT concealer, it’s what a lot make up artists here in LA use. And it lasts forever. I mean it would take like 2 years to use the whole thing.
POWDER: Smashbox Halo Powder. I use this over the Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer. It takes away some of the shine, but is really lightweight so you can’t even see you have it on. Make up is all about looking like you’re not wearing any.
BLUSH: NARS Blush in Lovejoy. Great for winter. Darker and on the burgundy/bronze side.
THE EXTRA BIT: NARS highlighter in Albatross – An iridescent gold/white shimmer to put above your cheek bones.. Love it.
MASCARA: MAC Plushlash mascara in Black. I’ve tried every mascara from 5 dollars ones at the drugstores to 50 dollar designer brands. MACS still remains my favorite. I always use a primer before. I think it makes your eyelashes much fuller and longer. My favorite is Tarte’s MultiplEYE Prime 2.
LIPSTAIN: Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain. The best, better than all the high end brands I’ve tried. Lipstain is a must have in my routine. Makes your lips look darker but doesnt look like you have anything on.
LIPSTICK: NARS Lipstick in Fast Ride. The perfect sheer dark berry, wine stained lip.
EXTRA FUN: Victorias Secret Shimmering Hair and Body Spray. I always spray it on my skin and hair. It gives everything a little extra gold sparkle.
FRAGRANCE: My two favorites. Dolce & Gabanna La Lune (for night) & La Imperatrice (for day).
NAIL POLISH: I usually always stick to nudes. Essie Nail Polish in Topless & Barefoot and Not Just Another Pretty Face are my favorites. Sometimes I do burgundy… Essie’s Wicked.
HAIR OIL: Loreal Professional Mythic Oil. It’s new and a mix of different oils. I love it. I put a little in my hair while its still wet and then some after it dries as well.
SHAMPOO: Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum. The newest collection from Pureology made for blondes. It’s not purple shampoo.. which can over gray and dull out your hair. It’s a light blue tint that just helps pull brassiness and brigthen your platinum strands or highlights.
CONDITIONER: Loreal Kerastase Masquintense. It’s just great, can’t be beat and in my opinion worth the price. My favorite affordable conditioner (about $12): Loreal Natures Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme.
Hope you enjoyed my beauty regimen. Let me know if I missed anything! Or want any suggestions of anything else :) XO
