If your skin tone hasn’t been looking quite right, you may benefit from using a color corrector. Color correctors brighten, correct and diffuse irregular colorations on your face (Goodbye, hyper-pigmentation!) . Instead of trying to conceal the trouble spots with heavy foundation, which often makes your skin look dull and your makeup heavy, apply a color correcting primer first. It allows you to use less foundation so more of your skin shows through. This helps to achieve the natural, translucent look that we are often told can only come from using Photoshop. Some color correctors also come in powder form that you can dust them on anytime to neutralize, warm or brighten your skin.
The colors opposite each other on the color wheel are complimentary colors for decorating purposes, but for color correcting skin they also cancel each other out. So, for instance, green is opposite red on the wheel so if your skin is red you would use a green color corrector to neutralize the red. Pretty easy and effective. If you have skin problems such as rosacea, redness from acne, sallow skin, or skin that just needs brightening, using a color corrector might be the easy solution you’ve been looking for!
Green Correctors work well for extreme redness such as sunburn, rashes or birthmarks.

Peach/Apricot Correctors work well to cover up blues such as under eye circles, which is why many under eye concealers are apricot colored. Apricot can also brighten olive skin tones. Orange Correctors can warm up ashy skin on dark skin tones. Orange also corrects very dark purple/blue under eye circles and bruises.
