Some runway favorites of mine for fall/winter 2011. I’m loving burgundy and olive together, leather accents, and sheer dresses with big coats.
Balmain: Saying Decarnin didn’t dissapoint would be an understatement. This collection knocked it out of the park. Wow. I love the sparkle, shine, and full on glam rock feel of this. a perfect example of how to take a classic and simple outfit and turn it into a work of art with one stunning statement piece. amazing amazing. grade= a++
DIOR: despite all the controversy surrounding Galliano, I must admit the collection was stunning. it seemed to go two different ways, one side dark burgundys, olives and blacks; and another light airy lingerie inspired side. all in all i thought it was amazing on both ends. not to mention i love love love all the shoes. grade: A+
Isabel Marant: of course i loved this. it’s so cheyenne meets chanel inspired. okay okay i’m sure they didn’t get their inspiration from me. but clearly there is the native american / american wild west influence that i love going on here. so yes yes yes on all acounts!! grade: A
Roberto Cavalli: always always a favorite of mine. never dissapointed. the flowy sheer dresses that move with perfection, the mix of earthy colors including my fall 2011 favorite: burgundy, the feathers. oh its all so beautiful. grade= A+
Haider Ackermann: I love the mixture of fabrics/ and textures on this collection. i love the leather detailing and leather accents mixed with the silk. very cool, very chic. a funky, modern, unconventional twist on simplicity. grade= A Lanvin: can do no wrong. elegant and chic. as always expected. love the floral print on the first dress. grade= A
so yes they all got a’s in my book. no use wasting my time and putting up things i don’t like. and of course i don’t like every piece from every collection so i pick through and just put up my favorites. :)
