I sure wouldn’t consider the beach the chicest locale, especially in Southern California where the typical attire consists of last years ripped jean shorts, a plain tee and 5 dollar flip flops. But it turns out it’s actually quite easy to step up the game on your ocean side look… Here are some of my tips.
You don’t always have to go for crazy bright colors. While some bright pops are fun for warm sun-filled days, nudes and peaches can make for a more sophisticated and chic summer look; especially when you’re wearing a loose mini dress.
Trade out your flip flops for some on-trend gladiator sandals or lace up sandals. While these bad boys might look tough to get into, it’s actually only one zipper on your inner calf and they zip on and off in one sec. Well, maybe 2 seconds compared to the time it takes to kick off your flip flops. But still you get the picture- easy as cake.
Jewelry- instead of colored strings, beads, and friendship bracelets galore; try simple silver cuffs and a matching necklace. The necklace is actually made out of plastic and all pieces just slip right on and off. And for a sexy summer piece to keep on- a super thin delicate body chain is a must!
Here’s what you shouldn’t do- go swimming in your outfit like I’ve done here. Haha. I got a little too close to the water taking pics and wiped out by a wave. At that point I figured didn’t have much to lose so just got right in and hey at the least it made for some pretty cool pics!
