Fight Dry Winter Skin

  • Best Body Moisturizers for Winter
It’s winter and it’s time to think about the best moisturizers for the cold months ahead. Even in southern California winter weather means drier skin. Cold weather, dry indoor heat and hot showers are some of our skins worst enemies. Products that worked in the summer may not be so great for winter skin. Here are some of my favorites for when my skin is feeling parched. Also, remember to drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated, make sure you are getting plenty of omega 3’s in your diet, and always apply moisturizer right out of the shower.
  • Dermatologists have been recommending AmLactin for years. This lotion will make a difference in the texture of your skin. It contains 12% lactic acid to exfoliate dead skin and bring new cells to the surface. Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid and a naturally occurring humectant for the skin which will help keep it hydrated. The more moisture that can be retained deep within the skin, the softer and smoother your skin feels. It is absorbed quickly and exfoliates away stubborn flaky patches. Rub some on before you go to bed and say goodbye to dry, ashy arms and legs. Once a week or so, message some into your feet and hands, put on a pair of socks and gloves for the night. No more dry heels or cracked cuticles. Some people complain about the smell but I find that it’s not that strong and fades quickly.
  • Pic 3  Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion
Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion is specially formulated to help heal extremely dry, rough and problem skin. With seven intensive moisturizers and three essential skin-nurturing vitamins, plus the natural healing power of aloe, Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion is clinically tested to moisturize for up to 24 hours. It soothes and moisturizes without being greasy. The scent is clean and fresh. I’ve found a great way to get all of the lotion out of the container. (I hate wasting perfectly good lotion but propping it upside down just doesn’t work for me) When you can’t pump any more just add some warm water and shake. You can keep doing this for quite some time and it still works great!

  • CeraVe

CeraVe’s duo of two ingredients, ceramides and hyaluronic acid, are found in each of their formulas. They slowly deliver ingredients into the skin over a 24-hour period, allowing your skin to absorb and stay hydrated. Together they help dry skin retain water over a longer period of time, as well as improve the look and feel of your skin. CeraVe products are also designed to work alongside drying, harsh treatments, by offsetting certain prescription medications used to treat conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne, which is why so many people with sensitive skin love this cream. This cream is rich and easy to spread, and really works to soften skin.

  • Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion

This rich yet lightweight body lotion is one of my favorite splurges. Blended with Moroccan Argan Oil and Argan Leaf Extract it helps to optimally hydrate and reinforce skin’s defenses against free-radical damage. It’s expensive but it smells heavenly and gives this amazing sheen to your skin. A little of this lotion goes a long way.  I recommend getting this in the small size as the pump tends to clog up in the larger sizes.

  • Curel Daily Moisture

This is one of my go to moisturizers for both summer and winter. It has a clean fresh fragrance and absorbs easily yet leaves a protective barrier on your skin. With time released ceramide moisturizers Curel provides 24 hours of continuous moisturizing and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I also love Curel’s Ultra Moisturizing lotion.

  7. First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask
if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I’ve had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas
out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations
    or tips? Kudos!
