Whats the Hype? Face Oils

  • Favorite Face Oils

I’ve really been into face oils lately. They are perfect this time of year for parched winter skin. No matter your skin type you can find an oil that works for you. The trick is in finding the right one and there are so many to choose from! It can be a trial and error process of testing to see what works for you. Always read the label when buying botanical products to make sure that you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients. If in doubt, test on the inside of your wrist for a few days. Many essential oils have a strong aromatherapy scent. Don’t be put off by this as they dissipate within 5 minutes or so. You only need a drop or two of these precious oils so even one ounce can last a few months. With that being said here are a few that I’ve been enjoying lately.

    A few tips:

Mix a drop of your favorite oil into your foundation for a soft, dewy look.
You can emulsify oil by spritzing your face with mineral water first.
Make sure to use a sunscreen if using oils during the day since most oils don’t contain sunscreen.

  • Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

This combination of botanical oils effectively dissolves makeup without leaving a oily residue. Apply a few pumps to dry skin and massage for a few minutes. It feel so luxurious and does a good job at removing eye make-up also. It rinses off clean with warm water so it works for all skin types.

  • John Masters Organics Pomegranate Facial Nourishing Oil

This is a lovely night oil for those with dry skin. Massage a few drops into skin after cleansing. Your skin stays moisturized all night and feels baby soft in the morning. John Masters Organics has won many awards for their natural skin and haircare products. All their ingredients are certified organic and their oils must be steam distilled and cold pressed which preserves the nourishing qualities of the essential oils. The key ingredients in this oil are pomegranate seed oil, evening primrose oil, rosewood oil, sage, olive oil and geranium oil.

  • Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil

Palmer’s has always been a drugstore favorite and at around $10 this oil is quite a bargain. It contains 10 different oils including almond and argan, plus retinol and vitamin C. It has a lovely floral scent and feels wonderful on the skin. Does not leave your skin feeling greasy or oily. Good for all skin types.

  • Kate Somerville Dilo Oil

I love Kate Somerville products and this oil is no exception. A customer favorite, this 100 percent natural oil
improves the look of skin firmness and elasticity, evens skin-tone, and helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Dilo oil from Fiji is rich in natural lipids and is known for it’s restorative benefits. It’s super hydrating, but doesn’t leave your face shiny and has a lovely scent too.

  • Uma Total Rejuvenation Night Face Oil umaoils.com

Uma is a line of 100% natural and organic luxury skincare products. All their products are grown, extracted, formulated and bottled at the family estate in India. The Total Rejuvenation night oil was developed to promote healthy cellular turnover and repair damage. It contains essential oils of Lemon, Sandalwood, Clary Sage, Geranium, Lavender, Frankincense, Chamomile and Rose in a Pomegranate Oil base. Melts into skin and leaves it soft and silky the next morning.

  • Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil

Seaberry moisturizing face oil is a blend of pure oils including seaberry, cranberry seed, camellia seed, grapeseed, and sweet almond. Native to Siberia, seabuckthorn is a restorative oil that has been used for generations for it’s natural healing abilities. These powerful antioxidants protect the skin from damaging free radicals, while vitamin E helps to maintain the skins elasticity. Absorbs easily and is a favorite for all skin types.

Totally agree with you. I’ve been using the Kiehls midnight recovery oil for a few months now and my skin has never been better. It was a toss up between that or the palmers skin therapy oil, although now I want to try the John Masters Organics too! Would definitely recommend the Kiehls if you’re looking for another.

Within the last 6 months I’ve been introduced to face oils…which contrary to popular believe should actually be used regardless of skin type! I wish I knew this earlier! I love the feel face oils give to my skin, and I actually see a difference in it too!
